Sleepless

counting the sleep I'm losing before the alarm goes off

a heavy toddler
on my chest, latched on in his sleep

I hope that's a cat
licking my knee

I can't remember
     if
my husband is
     in this state
     in this region
     in this country
     getting more sleep than I am
